Southern Explore 14 Days

Day 1 - Cultural Village

Departing Gauteng we spend the day visiting the sights along the Drakensberg panoramic route. We visit God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, and the Blyde River Canyon en route to the Shangaan Tribal Village where we spend the night. We enjoy an exciting evening of tribal dancing, singing and tasting of traditional African food and we sleep in the tribal traditional huts. (D)

Days 2&3 - Kruger National Park

After breakfast we head for the famous Kruger Park. Here we begin our search for the many species of birds, mammals and reptiles inhabiting the Kruger Park. Our days are spent on game drives and evenings around the campfire. One of the evenings is spent on an open vehicle night drive. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Polokwane (Pietersburg)

We enjoy an early morning game drive before setting off for Polokwane where we camp for the night. (B,D)

Day 5 - Nata

We cross into Botswana and continue to Nata where we camp at the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans (B,D)

Days 6 & 7 - Livingstone (Victoria Falls)

We cross the Chobe River at the Kazungulu Ferry into Zambia and Livingstone where we camp. We enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. The following day is spent on optional activities which include white-water rafting, bungee jumping, microlighting, jet ski boating, canoeing or a flight over the Falls. We explore the town of Livingstone and its markets and visit the Victoria Falls. (B,D)

Day 8 - Chobe

We depart Livingstone and journey to Kasane where we camp on the banks of the Chobe River. The afternoon is spent relaxing or enjoying an optional game cruise on the Chobe River. (B,D)

Day 9 - Maun

At sunrise we proceed on an open vehicle into the Chobe National Park. After breakfast we depart for Maun, the gateway to the Okavasngo Delta. (B,D)

Days 10&11 - Okavango Delta

We venture into the wilderness of the Delta; Greeted by the local guides in mokoros (traditional dugout canoes. We explore the pristine waters of the Delta by mokoro and enjoy game walks in search of the abundant wildlife that inhabits this oasis in an otherwise arid region. We camp on an island in the bDelta and enjoy our evenings under the African Skies (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Maun

We leave behind the tranquility and memories of our mokoro trip and transfer back to Maun. This afternoon you have the option of a game flight over the Delta, giving you a superb view of the watertways and wildlife. (B,D)

Day 13 - Khama Rhino Sanctury, Serowe, Botswana

We depart from Maun and head for the Khama Rhino Sanctury in Serowe where we spend the evening camping in the reserve. (B,L,D)

Day 14 - Johannesburg

Departing early we cross the border and arrive back in Johannesburg late aftertnoon. (B)
