Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls Zimbabwe and Okavango Delta Botswana 16 Day Safaris

Day 1 - Shangaan Tribal Village

Day 1: Tribal Village (South Africa) We depart early morning from Johannesburg & Pretoria for Nelspruit, where we also pick clients up. From here we drive through the mountains to Graskop where we stop to do last minute shopping and enjoy lunch (own cost). After lunch we visit God's Window, Bourke Luck Potholes, and the Blyde River Canyon. Tonight you have the choice of accommodation: Tribal Shangaan village: You will do a short tour of the village, during which they will tell you more about the Shangaan culture and traditions. You will join the village people for a traditional meal, and then be treated to some traditional singing and dancing at the campfire. Tonight you will sleep in the village huts, as the village people do. Private Lodge: A beautiful lodge with bar and swimming pool, where you will stay in rondawels (chalets) with own bathrooms. The local kids will entertain you with traditional African dancing and singing, after a large home style dinner. They work for themselves and collect all the tips in order to pay for school. Days 2 & 3 - Kruger National Park

Days 2 & 3: Kruger National Park (South Africa) After breakfast we visit Kapama cheetah & endangered species research and breeding project, where you do a two hour tour with their staff. Here you will learn more about the endangered species of southern Africa, and the efforts to re-introduce them to nature. We then enter Kruger National Park, which is home to 147 mammal, 114 reptile, & 502 bird species, including all of the Big Five. You will be doing game drives inside Kruger National Park the majority of the day, with stops at view points and hides at waterholes. You will learn a lot from the guides, who have extensive knowledge of the animals, birds and plants. They also know the park, and animal movements, which enhances your game viewing opportunities. Breakfasts and lunches will be enjoyed at picnic sites within Kruger National Park, and you will be staying at a campsite inside Kruger National Park. During the evenings you can relax around the campfire while listening to the sounds of Africa as the animals call out at night. You might see various animals like hyena, buffalo or elephant walking along the fences. During these two days you have the opportunity of doing an optional game walk and / or night drive. Both activities are conducted by Kruger Park rangers and are approximately three hours in duration. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included

Day 4 - Hartbeespoort

Day 4: Hartbeespoort (South Africa) We start our final game drive as soon as the gates open, in search of the animals that we have not seen. Tonight we stay at Hartbeespoort in the valley below the Magaliesberg Mountains. Breakfast, Dinner included

Day 5 - Nata, Botswana.

Day 5: Nata (Botswana) We depart early morning from Hartbeespoort. Your guide will stop en-route for breakfast (own cost) and last minute shopping, before reaching the Botswana border. You will get an opportunity to change money, after crossing the border, from where we head further north to Nata, where we camp the night. Dinner included

Day 6 - Maun

Day 6: Maun (Botswana) The day starts with an early morning breakfast, before heading west along the northern border of the Kalahari Desert to Maun. We stay the night at a great campsite just outside Maun, where you can visit the crocodile farm, and relax by the pool. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included

Days 7, 8, & 9 - Okavango Delta

Days 7, 8, 9: Okavango Delta (Botswana) The Okavango Delta must be one of the best experiences offered in Southern Africa, and offers a large variety of mammal, reptile and bird species. We start the day with a large breakfast, before heading into the Okavango Delta with 4x4 open-sided game viewing vehicles. The local guides (polars) will be waiting for us in the park at the waterline, where we transfer all the equipment and our personal belongings into mokoros (traditional dug out canoes). From here we glide down the water channels deeper into the Okavango Delta, searching for the ideal place to set up camp. There will be no fences, no running water, no showers, no buildings and no electricity. We camp in the wild with only what we take with us. After lunch you cool off by swimming in a natural swim hole in the rivers. Every day we will do early morning and late afternoon game walks, searching for as many different animal species as possible. The guides will explain more about all the animals, tracks and the Delta during these walks. You will have the opportunity to get as close as possible (safety first) to the wildlife of the Okavango Delta. After dinners you can relax with the guides around a campfire, while listening to their stories about the bush, animals, their cultures and of course listening to the sounds of animals at night in Africa. You start your last morning in the Okavango delta with a cup of coffee before doing your final game walk. After the walk you will enjoy breakfast, break down camp, and then return by mokoros to the place where the 4x4 vehicles will meet you. Your guide will prepare a light lunch on return to camp in Maun. This afternoon you have the opportunity to do an optional one hour flight over the Okavango Delta, during which you are guaranteed to see many large herds of animals, as well as many single or smaller groups of animals. Day 10 - Nata

Day 10: Nata (Botswana) This morning we head back to Nata, where you can relax by the pool, visit the shady tree canopy where you will see a large variety of birds, or do an optional quad bike excursion. Late afternoon we do a game drive (included) in the Magadigadi Pans in an open 4x4 vehicle. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included

Day 11 - Victoria Falls

Day 11: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) The day starts with an early morning breakfast, before heading north through the Kasane forest area where you are very likely to see elephants and other animal species on and beside the road. We cross the border into Zimbabwe at Kazungula, from which it is only a short but scenic drive to the adventure capital of Africa, Victoria Falls. Your guide will assist you with the changing of money and the booking of optional activities, before we visit one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the amazing Victoria Falls, which is the largest sheet (1700 meters wide) of falling water in the world. Late afternoon we do a sunset cruise from the Zambian side (visas included) on the third largest river in Africa, the mighty Zambezi River. There are national parks on either side of the river. You stand a good chance of seeing hippo, crocodile, elephant, giraffe, rhino and many more animal species. All beers, wine and soft drinks are included for the duration of the sunset cruise. We enjoy dinner on the river banks, before exploring the vibrant nightlife of Victoria Falls. Breakfast, Dinner included

Days 12 & 13 - Victoria Falls

Days 12 & 13: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) You have the opportunity to explore the town, crafts markets, surrounding areas or to do some of the many optional activities like the world's best one day white water rafting, the second highest bungi jump, horse trails, canoe safaris, flights over the waterfall, elephant back safaris, and many more. After dinner (day 3) we join the rafters and the rafting guides to watch the day's action on big screen video and photos. We will go out to one of the local restaurants for dinner (own cost) on day 4. Day 3: Breakfast, Dinner included Day 4: Breakfast included

Day 14 - Kasane and Chobe

Day 14: Kasane - Chobe National Park (Botswana) After breakfast we take a short drive to Kasane in Botswana. Here you will have the opportunity to change money at the bank. We then head off to Chobe Safari Lodge where we will be staying the night and where you can enjoy lunch at the pool restaurant overlooking the Chobe River. Late afternoon you will do a game drive in Chobe National Park in an open sided 4x4 vehicle. The park is well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the large variety of wildlife, including lion, leopard, hippo, antelope species, wild dog and much more. Breakfast, Dinner included

Day 15 - Nata

Day 15: Nata (Botswana) This morning we head back to Nata, where you can relax by the pool, visit the shady tree canopy where you will see a large variety of birds, or do an optional quad bike excursion. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included
