Coast to Coast Safari 36 Days

Day 1 - Upington

From Cape Town by bus and Johannesburg by combi we head to Upington and spend the night camping on the banks of the Orange River. (D)

Day 2 - Fish River Canyon, Namibia

We cross into Namibia and visit the Fish River Canyon, the 2nd largest in the world. (B,D)

Be mesmerised by the views from the edge of the Fishriver Canyon

Stage duration:1 day

Day 3 and 4 - Aus and Luderitz, Namibia

We visit Kolmanskop, the 'ghost town', Luderitz and Aus. You can visit the penguins as an optional activity. (B,D)

Stage duration:2 days

Day 5 and 6 - Sesriem, Namibia

The scenery and colours at Sesriem will leave you breathless. We also visit the sand dunes at Sossuslvei, the highest in the world. (B,L,D)

Enjoy the serenity of the Namib desert.

Day 7 and 8 - Swakopmund, Namibia

Entering the Namib-Naukluft Park, the lunar landscape appears. in Swakopmund you can enjoy the beach, visit a seal colony, go sea fishing, quad biking or sand boarding on the dunes. (B)

Day 9 - Cheetah Farm, Namibia

We head North to the Cheetah Farm where we camp next to the Cheetah enclosures. (B,L,D)

Day 10 and 11 - Etosha National Park, Namibia

Entering Etosha we spend our days on game drives and the evenings at the amazing waterholes watching the animals that come to drink. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Windhoek, Namibia

We head to Windhoek and spend the night in this capital city. (B)

Days 13, 14, 15 & 16 - Maun and Okavango Delta, Botswana

Crossing into Botswana we make our way to Maun, the gateway to the Delta. Maun is our base for the 3 day excursion into the Okavango Delta, where we explore the waterways by mokoro and search for game on walks. There is an optional game flight over the Delta. (B,L,D)

Day 17 - Chobe National Park, Botswana

Continuing north we set up camp in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River where you can do an optional river cruise on the Chobe River. (B,D)

Day 18, 19 and 20 - Livingstone, Zambia

We venture on an open vehicle game drive in the Chobe Park. Crossing into ZSambia by ferry we travel to Livingstone where we camp. In the late afternoon we enjoy a Zambezi sunset cruise in full view of Victoria Falls. The next days are spent at your leisure taking in the stunning scenery of the Victoria Falls or braving the many optional activities on offer. (B,D)

Day 21 - Luangwa Bridge, Zambia

Heading North through rural Zambia, we spend the night nat Luangwa Bridge. (B,L,D)

Day 22 - Lilongwe, Malawi.

We make our way through Zambia into the Warm Heart of Africa - Malawi. We spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant markets of Lilongwe. (B,L,D)

Enjoy the scenic drive through Zambia and the markets of Lilongwe

Stage duration:1 day

Days 23, 24, & 25 - Lake Malawi, Malawi

We camp on the shores of Lake Malawi and explore this large fresh water lake. Snorkelling and scuba diving gives us an opportunity to discover the 500 species of colourful tropical fish. Meeting the locals will remind us why Malawi is the land of smiles and laughter. (B,D)

Day 26 - Blantyre, Malawi.

After breakfast we head to Blantyre, named after the birthplace of David Livingstone. Blantyre is the crossroads to Mozambique. (B,D)

Day 27 - Chimoio, Mocambique

We cross into Mozambique, which has largely stayed untouched by modern development and gives the traveller an opportunity to escape from the beaten track. We camp in the small town of Chimoio. (B,L,D)

A drive through scenic Malawi and part of Mozambique.

Stage duration:1 day

Days 28, 29 & 30 - Vilanculos, Mozambique

We travel to Vilanculos on the coast. Vilanculos is a tropical paradise set in unspoilt beaches of sea, sun, and white sands. This area has world-class beaches washed by the warm Mozambique currents of the warm Indian ocean. You can take an optional trip to the Bazaruto area islands to snorkel, do a water-based activity or simply relax on the beach. (B,D)

Stage duration:3 days

Days 31 & 32 - Inhambane and Tofo, Mozambique.

Travelling South down the coast to Inhambane, we camp in the coastal village of Tofo. Time is spent at your leisure, sipping cocktails at one of the many beach bars, walking along the long white beaches, deep sea fishing, quad biking on trails or scuba diving or snorkelling for the more energetic. (B,D)

Day 33 - Maputo, Mozambique.

Leaving the peace and tranquility of the beaches behind, we continue on to the bustling capital city of Maputo. We explore the city in the afternoon and experience its rich cultural history. With its attractive tree lined avenues it has a unique European feel as well as some great local restaurants. (B)

Day 34 and 35 - Kruger National Park, South Africa

We head for the famous Kruger National Park and enter at one of the southern gates. Our time is spent on game drives, searching for the park's wide variety of diverse game. In the evenings we camp inside the park, listening to the sounds of the wild and enjoying the tranquility of the African bushveld. An optional night drive can be organised. (B,D)

Day 36 - Johannesburg, South Africa.

We enjoy our final early morning game drive and then after breakfast we drive back to Johannesburg (B)
