INTRODUCTION

Footprint handbook says:
"The best value for anyone who wants an enjoyable as well as informative trip"

Livingstone Trails offers a variety of budget tours to:
Kruger National Park (South Africa) which is the same size as Israel or Wales and home to 147 mammal, 502 bird and 147 reptile species. We often see the Big 5 in only one day.

Chobe National Park (Botswana) is very well known for large herds of animals. Almost every afternoon game drive we see at least 3 out of the big 5, including very large herds of elephant.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe / Zambia) is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and the largest sheet of falling water in the world. This magnificent waterfall is 1700 meters wide. The Zambezi river (4th largest in Africa) offers a variety of activities such as canoeing, boat cruises and of course the best one day white water rafting in the world.

Okavango Delta (Botswana) must be one of the most beautiful and amazing untouched wildlife areas in southern Africa. Travel the water channels in a mokoro, and enjoy many game walks.

Why book Livingstone Trails' tours & safaris:
Experience:
Livingstone Trails started doing tours and safaris in April 1994, which means that we have plenty of experience. Livingstone Trails was also one of the very first budget tour operators to do tours from Johannesburg and Pretoria to Kruger National Park (South Africa) and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). All managers and senior guides have a minimum of 5 years experience.

Easy payments:
You will be required to pay a 30% deposit to confirm your booking. We will email you a credit card authorisation form, that you must complete and fax back to us. The balance payment is only due on the day of tour departure, which you pay in cash or by credit card to the guide. The majority of the other tour operators requires full payment, to confirm a tour.

Easy departures:
Other tour operators will tell you that you have to stay at a certain place, or be at a certain place for tour departure.Livingstone Trails believes in making it as easy and comfortable as possible for our clients. We will pick you up from any:Backpackers hostel / lodge, Guest house, or hotel in the city or town where the tour departs from.We will even pick you up from a private address, as long as it is close to the main pickup route. Please note that we do not do pickups from airports, as it delays the departure (except tailor made tours). Our office will phone (between 6pm and 7pm) the reception of the place where you are staying the night before departure, to inform them of the time that we will pick you up the next morning for tour departure.

Variety of tours:
Livingstone Trails offers a variety of tours to different destinations. Something for everyone. All our tours depart weekly, and some tours up to 3 departures per week.Livingstone Trails does a Kruger National Park tour every day of the week.

Accommodation on tour:
We offer camping and bedded accommodation on every tour we operate. See each itinerary for prices and details.

Guaranteed tour departures:
All our tours and safaris guaranteed departures, with a minimum of 2 clients. We have not cancelled any tour departure since October 2005.

Cheapest prices, but offer the same and sometimes more:
Livingstone Trails' tours are the cheapest, but we offer more, and include more than some of the other budget tour operators. You will also note that many of our tours are a day or two longer than that of other operators, but still the same price, or even cheaper. Example: Many operators do a 14 day Kruger Park & Victoria Falls & Okavango Delta tour. We offer a 16 Day Kruger Park & Okavango Delta & Chobe National Park & Victoria Falls, which is two days longer, but still the same price as others. We do not believe in cutting any corners, therefore we ensure we use the same and better equipment and vehicles as others.

Livingstone Trails is one of the first and one of the only to:

Kruger National Park:
We were the first budget tour operator to have a own camp area inside Kruger National Park.We are one of the first and only budget safari operators to do all our game drives, night drives (included) and game walks inside Kruger National Park. Many of the operators do their game walks and night drives on private property outside the park.We are one of the first budget tour companies to own and operate open vehicle safaris inside Kruger National Park.

Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park:
We were the first and currently the only budget tour operator, to do a short 7 days tour to Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Okavango Delta:
We are the only budget tour operator to do a short 7 days safari straight to Okavango Delta from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Small and big enough:
Livingstone Trails is small enough for the owners and managers to do all the day to day running of the company, but we operate 25+ tours and safaris (weekly) which makes us big enough to offer a variety.

What others had to say:
Pauline Gegout from France commented as follows on 09 OCT 2002:
I had a great experience with Livingstone, some 4 years back - hiking in the Drakkensberg mountains. Now would like to know if you have any sister companies in Kenya doing the same kind of low budget friengly tours?
