Spread along the banks of the Chobe River, lies the Chobe Safari Lodge, the only game lodge to be found inside the Chobe National Park. Chobe Safari Lodge is your gateway to a truly unique African wildlife experience.

The lodge is located at the entrance to the Chobe National Park, the third largest reserve in Botswana, famous for the highest concentration of elephants in Africa.

When the afternoon heat drives the animals to the waters edge, a leisurely cruise along the Chobe River provides a unique game viewing opportunity.

CHOBE BELLE

The lodge, the oldest in the area, has been taking guests on game viewing trips along the Chobe River since 1963. The legendary "Chobe Belle" was the first paddleboat of its kind above the Victoria Falls. Today, the lodge offers the same unique experience with the comforts of a modern lodge.

The lodge is ideally situated for exploration of the surround areas and is only 80 kilometres from the Victoria Falls, 5 kilometres from the Kasane International Airport, adjacent the village of Kasane and situated at the entrance of the world famous Chobe National Park.

The lodge offers boat hire for game viewing and fishing. A relaxing sunset cruise on the "Fish Eagle," a double decker boat with bar facilities offers a unique and exciting game viewing experience. Daily guided game drives are available into the Park and transfers can also be arranged to luxury tented camps in the wildlife concession areas.

ACCOMMODATION

Chobe Safari Lodge offers a variety of accommodation, nestled in the lush vegetation along the banks of the Chobe River.

In all our accommodation, as throughout the lodge, the focus on African art is apparent.

The classic African, twin bed Rondavels offer a more traditional form of accommodation.

The rondavels have en-suite toilet and shower, each with their own braai facilities and are cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans.

The more luxurious twin bed River Rooms are air conditioned and offer the convenience of phone, TV and large en-suite bathrooms

In the same setting as the river rooms, are the spacious River Family units with four twin bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms.

Our famous campsite, situated on the Chobe's wild river bank, offers the true African 'in the bush' experience, with the comfort and use of our full ablution facilities.

For the connoisseur of luxury, there are four private suites, each with individual swimming pool and outside garden patio. All the rooms overlook the perennial Chobe River and the adjacent Caprivi floodplain.

FOOD

Nothing is spared in the laying of the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.

The lunch and dinner braai buffet is served around the pool area, overlooking the river, and offers a selection of local treats as well as exotic game dishes.

ACTIVITIES

Chobe Safari Lodge offers both game drives and boat cruises into the Chobe National Park.

The large diversity of landscape and vegetation, with the great variety of bird life and game, including large herds of buffalo, makes Chobe a wildlife experience not to be missed.

The game drives into the Chobe National Park are hosted by Go Wild Safaris. The drives follow the routes along the Chobe riverfront, which supports the greatest abundance of wildlife in the park.

The three-hour sunset boat cruises, up the Chobe River into the National Park, on the pontoon Fish Eagle, King Fisher or Chobe Belle offer a pleasurable cruise with the luxury of a cash bar.

Driven by the same thirst, the animals also make their way to the waters edge in the afternoons, providing a unique game viewing opportunity. Smaller boats may also be hired for game viewing or fishing.

For the more adventurous, the lodge also offers a night drive into the Lesoma Valley. The more energetic can take part in a scenic safari walk through the valley.

The lodges facilities include swimming pool, squash courts, internet cafe, beauty salon, waters edge sunset bar, cocktail bar, buffet and snack restaurant, curious shop and conference room.
